Group Definition of Usablity

"Usablity can be defined as the ease-of-use that the user experiences when visiting a website. Does the website do what the user wants it to and how pleased is the user with the design of the website. The result of a poorly designed website is that the user will defiantly leave and is unlikely to visit again"

The following URL below outlines these issues very well:

There is a need for companies to combine usablity issues with design issues to provide a successfull websites, as outlined in the URL below which goes onto outline a framework developing websites:

The Special Interest Group (SIG) will look at Usablity and Design from two different views:
  • The users expectation and satisfaction
  • The website producer and company requirements

SIG Overall Objective: What makes a website sucessfull in terms of usablity?
